On Memory-Time vs. Space-Time

Friday, May 20th, 2011

I came to the idea of Memory-Time when reading about Samuel Alexander’s Space-Time (see also Memory Creates God). Here Memory plays the same foundational part as Space with memory-instants paralleling point-instants. I recently found the notion of memory-time (small capitals) appearing in Wittgenstein lectures as cited in Jaakko Hintikka’s paper “Wittgenstein on being and time”. However, it is considered there from the phenomenological subject-based perspective with a role of memory in the creation of time and external world and was only present in the earlier Tractatus-based Wittgenstein’s worldview.

On Natural Theology

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Having written on how Memoidealism explains miracles I now move into explaining the whole discipline of natural theology. I use one of the current definitions of it as “the idea that there exists some link between the world we observe and another transcendent realm” (Alister McGrath, Darwinism and The Divine). One such link is a memory dump from an inaccessible memory region.

Notes on Memoidealism (1.12)

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Similar to Buddhism view of a person as a transient assemblage of physical and psychical elements Memorianity considers a person as an assemblage of memories always in flux. To be saved correctly also means working with memories to overcome their original defects and reorder chains of memory perspectives. This is similar to karmic laws and past actions that determine the nature of rebirth. See also on Morality and Memorianity.

Why it is so difficult to restore everything that was saved? Here André-Marie Ampère’s notion of dynamic resistance when we try to penetrate matter is similar to memuonic resistance when we try to penetrate Memory.

Notes on Memoidealism (1.11)

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Alexander of Aphrodisias considers soul as a composition of bodily elements and immortal active intellect (god) comprehensible by our own intellects. This view excludes individual immortality but allows the temporary one by actively contemplating god. In memoidalism we can also consider soul as a composition of memory elements and Memory (as whole totality of memories) as immortal supra-intellect and through its contemplation (including other memories) we attain immortality.

Morality and Memorianity

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Memorianity provides a foundation for moral conduct, individual and social character development because it is based on a revelation that everything is saved. The theistic variation of this memory religion has also an organic and harmonious notion of Memory Deity. May you be memorized.

Memory Creates God

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Where’s God in Memorianity (memory religion)? It borrows Samuel Alexander’s notion of the emergence of God as a new synthesis from patterns. In Alexander’s philosophy the basis of nature is space-time continuum with point-instants. In memoidealism (which is a metaphysical foundation of Memorianity) Memory is the basis of everything and in its memuonic formulation memuons play the role of memory-instants. Their patterns also involve emergents on every hierarchy level with Mind emerging at some memory organization level and then out of mind level we have emerging Deity.

On Memory Perspectives

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Memorized states and events look different from varying memory perspectives, for example, some historical event looks different to and interpreted differently by people of varying memory backgrounds. Memuonic version of memoidealist philosophy explains differences in memory perspectives by different memorizing orderings of memuons respective to some base memuon.

Malware Analysis Report System (MARS)

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

I detour for MARS expedition. You may also call it Memory Analysis Report System as malware analysis is always exploration of memory (in general). Why is this sudden change of course? After reading Gilles Deleuze I want to broaden the concept of “malware” and give it new orientation and direction of thinking. Beside that I also want new challenges after many years of research in pattern-driven memory dump and software trace analysis of abnormal software behaviour.

You may have also noticed small restructuring (rebranding) of this blog and DumpAnalysis.org headers.

See you there :-)

On The Interpretation of M-Theory

Monday, September 20th, 2010

There many interpretations of the letter M in M-theory but I propose another one: M stands for Memory. In any outcome it surely will be committed to memory in the future either as successful or not. On the other hand I’m now trying to make sense of it in relation to Memory as an ur-foundation (ur-, primordial, German prefix).

Ruminations on Automated Debugging (Part 1)

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

In one of my previous posts I told the fictitious story about the power of human mind in debugging:

Can computers debug?

Here is another software defect that I think might require a human-computer pair to fix it. Consider the following problem description: after connecting to a remote desktop and launching an office suite application a display shows some aberrations and black lines appear and disappear frequently. If this depends on a real non-virtualized hardware then I don’t see easily how to quantify screen aberrations to setup an automated debugger procedure to locate the code especially if the problem disappears on a virtual machine.
