Resume and CV as a book

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

A book can serve the role of CV but this weekend another idea got into my mind is to publish my old pre-Citrix times CV (1987 - 2003) as a book and as an example of a guy with CV-writing obsession like I had 5 - 8 years ago:

  • Title: Resume and CV: As a Book
  • Paperback: 16 pages
  • Publisher: Opentask (01 Dec 2008)
  • ISBN-13: 978-1-906717-34-6

Soon it should appear on Amazon and bookshops around the world. Now when someone asks me to send a CV I can send them a link to buy it. :-)

Shortly after celebrating 5 years at Citrix I got my first certificate since the 1st of December, 2006 when I was certified in Kernel Debugging for Windows®. Now it is also my first Citrix certificate and it marks my 5 year service:

Tales before the dawn of virtualization

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Before the advent of virtual machines to Wintel platforms people had to take pictures of bluescreens or even write all data down by hand to fax it:

How easy it is today! You just do Print Screen.

5 Years at Citrix!

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

I’ve just passed 5 year mark in my Citrix career and I say those years were really exciting! Incidentally at the same time, on 14th of October 2003 I started doing true memory dump analysis in WinDbg-sense of it despite the fact that I’d been doing debugging since 1987 and encountered the first symbolic assembly language debugger on PDP-11 RSX-11M Russian clone in 1988. Also 5 years ago I made my transition from software engineering world to software technical support and started my journey to become a manager.

I’ve put a timeline on a portal accessible from the main page or from the following link:

http://www.dumpanalysis.org/Timeline

The timeline will help me in the future to write my memoirs (Crash Dump: A Software Engineering Autobiography, ISBN: 978-1906717193).

Finally, to record the glorious Citrixofication of the world by various CitrixwareOpentask decided to publish a book where I plan to be an editor of various contributors and probably write a chapter or two myself:

Discovering Citrixware (ISBN: 978-1906717278)

It is not about troubleshooting but more in a sense of discovery. More details will be announced later.

Citrixware

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

Citrix is a global leader in application delivery and access infrastructure solutions including application streaming and virtualization. There are so many great products developed by this company including WinFrame, MetaFrame, Presentation Server and its clients, Desktop Server, XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop, Receiver and Dazzle, Access Gateway, Application Firewall, Application Gateway, NetScaler, WANScaler, GoToMeeting, GoToMyPC, GoToWebinar, GoToAssist, EdgeSight and Password Manager.

Citrix is no longer tied to Windows platforms because its products run on Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, HP-UX, AIX, Symbian and Mac OS X as well. To bind them all together I propose to use the word “Citrixware”.

With more than 180,000 organizations in the world using Citrixware the chances are that you use it too. This is more encompassing word than just simple “accessware”.
