About the position

Citrix has been operating in Dublin since 1999, currently employing more than 100 people in EMEA Technical Support, with almost 90 of these based in our Dublin headquarters. These include Technical Support Engineers, Escalation Engineers, Technical Relationship Managers, Support Readiness and Support Account Managers. Due to continued growth we now have an opening for a Software Maintenance Engineer, based in our Dublin office in East Point Business Park, Dublin 3.
Position Summary

The Software Maintenance Engineer performs problem analysis on highly complex, wide-ranging problems. Resolution of these problems often involves code-level changes and bug fix recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Citrix software via issue analysis, troubleshooting and debugging
• Work on customer-based software problems in partnership with both the Escalation and Development Teams
• Get involved in some phases of the software development and release cycle that include design, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting and debugging, installation, software maintenance and testing
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with limited supervision
• May have worldwide travel requirements to remote Citrix offices for training purposes

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or Electrical Engineer from an accredited college or university

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in bug fixing and expertise in software engineering process including Software Configuration Management Systems (eg. Perforce)
• Deep Windows OS-level knowledge linked with strong understanding of .NET, WPF, Powershell and in particular WCF.
• Strong C/C++ programming, debugging and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Must be able to clearly and concisely define/document technical issues
• Experience with debugging techniques and tools required, including ability to analyze and debug dump files, network and stack traces
• Experienced in software development project estimation, engineering tools and concepts
• Strong knowledge of security concepts
• Deep understanding of Windows Internals and Kernel debugging
