Hi Dmitry

I tried to use your sotware... When i try to listen the .Wav file, I get an error message from Windows Media Player 11.0: unable to read the file. no suitable file type or missing Codec... (the message is in french originally)...

It seems however to be a great tools... :-)

What parameters did you specify for your dump file? Default ones?
What is the exact size of your dump file in bytes?
Can sndrec32.exe play it?

Thanks,
Dmitry

PS. Hope forthcoming DumpPlayer will address all issues because it will play shorter chunks in realtime by using waveOutxxx Win32 API :-)

I use default parameters...
Dump file size: 45.457.858 bytes (user.dmp)
I tried with 64 Kb dump too...
sndrec32.exe can't play it

Could you please show the full command line you used?
Does your path to user.dmp include spaces? in that case you need to include it in double quotes. I'll try to repro that. You are the first who told me about this problem. I might need to add more checks and diagnostic messages to this tool.

Many thanks,
Dmitry

Dump2Wave has been updated (version 1.2) and can be downloaded from the same address as before:

http://www.opentask.com/downloads/Dump2Wave.zip

What's new:

1. Dumps with file size not divisible by the product of bytes-per-sample and channels are converted into correct wave files now
2. Added diagnostic and error messages

Actually small corretion was made for version 1.2 and it is now version 1.2.1 downloadable from the same location:

http://www.opentask.com/downloads/Dump2Wave.zip

Revised "What's new and corrections" list:

1. Dumps with file size not divisible by the product of bytes-per-sample and channels (sample alignment) are converted into correct wave files now
2. Sample alignment is calculated correctly for non-CD quality wave
3. File paths with spaces are allowed now (you need to include them in double quotes)
4. Added diagnostic and error messages

Thanks to everyone giving it a try :-)
Dmitry
