Symstore command not work

Symstore command not work

Postby tommyckt » Tue Nov 25, 2008 12:26 am

Dear All,

I have tried to create a symbol store in my server.

Here are the steps:
1) Download the windows 2003 x64 with SP1 symbol and windows 2003 x64 with SP2 symbol
2) Install SP1 symbol, and then SP2 symbol to the \\win03x64\symbol_source
3) Execute the following command to build store:
symstore add /r /p /f \\win03x64\Symbol_Source\*.* /s \\win03x64\Symbol /t "Windows Server 2003" /v "Build 3790 (Service Pack 2) Free x64" /r /z pub
4)
But I found that the actual path name in \\win03x64\symbol is NOT same as the path the Winbg mentioned:

Actual path name:
C:\Symbol\ntkrnlmp.pdb\03185083233249D9BB747EA777B80C982

Error from Windebug:
0: kd> !sym noisy

SYMSRV: \\win03x64\symbol\ntkrnlmp.pdb\C81DDF69F7C04ABB95B277D818BF58E52\ntkrnlmp.pdb not found

*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for ntkrnlmp.exe -

Please help.
