How to get SoftICE

How to get SoftICE

Postby MrClyfar » Sat May 31, 2008 10:44 pm

Hi there.

I've recently become interested in Windows internals and would like to get a copy of SoftICE. Now I understand that support for this product finished last year (plus SoftICE itself has not been available from Compuware since 2006), but does anyone know of any other method I could get SoftICE?

I have managed to tinker with SoftICE in the past and have been very impressed with it's power and ease of use. Although I've seen a couple of other products (such as Syser Debugger and Rasta Ring 0 Debugger) neither of those seem to offer the same ease of user and power as SoftICE.

If anyone has any suggestions, then that would be great.

Cheers.
Jas.

Why don't you use WinDbg to study internals? Anyway Windows Internals book uses WinDbg for illustration
